Current Research Field

My research interests are focused on solid state, and material physics and chemistry.
Especially, in the implementation of computational methods such as Density Functional Theory, Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations driven by high-energy synchrotron X-ray and neutron absorption, diffraction and scattering experiments to study the physical and chemical properties of crystalline and amorphous materials, such as metal oxides and alloy nanoparticles, thin film, and complex hybrid organic-inorganic materials with wide-ranging energy-related applications.

Current Research Field

I am engaged in the fabrication of novel catalysts via advanced methods for water splitting. Primary specializations include the understanding of assembly mechanisms of highly active catalysts, exploitation of high-efficiency catalysts by screening large reaction parameter spaces, uncovering the catalytic mechanisms through early-stage detections and novel in situ optical detection techniques for integration with microfluidics.

Current Research Field

I am aiming to gain new insights into the reaction mechanism of heterogeneous electrocatalysts for the oxygen/hydrogen evolution reaction (OER/HER) and to subsequently transfer this knowledge into the rational design of new electrocatalysts.  To gain the desired insights, a combination of in situ/operando spectroelectrochemical methods (i.e. XAS, Raman, and UV-vis) was implemented in my current research.
